(Allentown, Pa) – The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (70-62) and Worcester Red Sox (69-63) split their double-header on Thursday evening at Coca-Cola Park. The IronPigs won game one 5-1, while the WooSox won game two 9-1.

Game 1

The IronPigs were able to snap their four-game losing streak behind a strong pitching performance by Michael Plassmeyer (6-3). Plassmeyer allowed just one run off four hits in six innings pitched, while striking out seven batters. The lone run he allowed was a home run by Jarren Duran in the top of the sixth inning.

Lehigh Valley took a 4-0 lead against Victor Santos (1-4) in the bottom of the third inning. Yairo Munoz hit an RBI single that scored Scott Kingery. Darick Hall followed with a three-run home run – his 22nd of the season. Johan Camargo homered against Durbin Feltman in the bottom of the sixth inning to give Lehigh Valley a 5-1 lead.

Seranthony Dominguez pitched the top of the seventh inning for Lehigh Valley. He issued two walks and struck out one batter.

Game 2

The WooSox took a 7-0 lead against Lehigh Valley in the top of the third inning. Jack Perkins (0-1) allowed four of the seven runs in the inning. Jaylin Davis and Christin Stewart each scored on a bases-loaded walk. Johan Mieses hit a grand slam against Michael Kelly, which game the WooSox six of their seven runs. Kole Cottam hit an RBI double for the seventh run of the inning.

Mieses hit an RBI double against Braeden Ogle in the top of the fourth inning, which extended Worcester’s lead to 8-0. Dustin Peterson homered against Brian Keller (5-5) in the bottom of the fourth inning to get Lehigh Valley on the scoreboard. Nick Sogard hit a sacrifice fly against Francisco Morales to extend Worcester’s lead to 9-1.

The IronPigs and WooSox play again on Friday evening at Coca-Cola Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
