Rodolfo Duran hit his first AAA home run of the season

(Rochester, NY) – David Parkinson (1-7) earned his first win of the season in his 13th start as the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (33-41) beat the Rochester Red Wings (30-42) 5-3 on Wednesday evening. The IronPigs have now won five out of their last six games.

The Pigs took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning against Ben Braymer (2-7) as Nick Maton hit an RBI double to score Charlie Tilson. Lehigh Valley extended their lead to 5-0 in the top of the fourth inning when Darick Hall hit an RBI single, and Rodolfo Duran hit a three-run home run.

Parkinson allowed two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning as Lehigh Valley’s lead was cut to 5-2. Daniel Palka hit an RBI single, and Jake Noll scored on a sacrifice. The left-hander pitched 5 1/3 innings and allowed just those two runs off four hits and one walk with four strikeouts. Mike Adams pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings in relief of Parkinson.

Rochester scored their third run of the game against Cam Bedrosian in the bottom of the eighth inning as Noll scored on a bases-loaded walk by Jakson Reetz. Mauricio Llovera earned his third save of the season by pitching 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief.

Lehigh Valley and Rochester play at 11:05 a.m. on Thursday at Frontier Field.
