David Paulino strong in a spot start

(Trenton, NJ) – David Paulino made his first start since 2019 and pitched four shutout innings against the Buffalo Bisons (34-24) on Tuesday night. It would not be enough as the Bisons defeated the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (26-34) 2-1.

Paulino was given a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning when Mickey Moniak scored on an RBI groundout by Darick Hall. After four innings on the mound, Paulino gave up just four hits and recorded two strikeouts. The right-hander was followed by Mike Adams, who pitched two shutout innings – recording two strikeouts and issuing one walk.

Buffalo’s Thomas Hatch allowed just the one run over five innings. The Bisons proceeded to use four pitchers in relief of Hatch, and each pitched a scoreless inning.

The Bisons scored two runs against Cam Bedrosian (1-1) in the bottom of the seventh inning to take a 2-1 lead. Logan Warmoth hit an RBI double to score Cullen Large and Nash Knight hit an RBI double to score Warmoth.

Travis Bergen (1-0) earned the win for Buffalo while Hobie Harris earned his fifth save of the season.

The IronPigs and Bisons meet again on Wednesday evening at Trenton Thunder Ballpark. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
