The Pigs and Clippers begin a three-game series at Huntington Park tonight at 7:05 p.m.

PITCHING MATCHUP

Cole Irvin is set to make his first start since starting the All-Star Game against Shao-Ching Chiang for Columbus. The pitching matchup is presented by Allentown Family Foot Care, which provides the latest in medical and surgical treatments of the entire foot and ankle.
The last time Irvin started at Huntington Park was during the Triple-A All-Star Game. Irvin is 8-3 on the year but has not won a decision since June 10. This is Irvin's first start since July 6 when he took the mound against Rochester at Coca-Cola Park. Chiang is making his first career start against the IronPigs tonight. Chiang, a member of the Chinese-Taipei World Baseball Classic team, tossed a no-hitter with Lynchburg a year ago.

LAST GAME

The afternoon started with Ranger Suárez (1-0) picking up his first start in over two weeks since a slight injury at Rochester. Suarez tossed five scoreless frames while allowing only four hits en route to his first Triple-A victory. Luis García, on a Good Shepherd rehab assignment, along with Zac Curtis and Tyler Gilbert blanked the Bisons the rest of the way.
Mitch Walding and Dylan Cozens opened the scoring in the first inning with a pair of two-run home runs, and each later followed up a solo home run later in the game. Adron Chambers added the rest of the offense for Lehigh Valley with his first home run of the season in the fourth inning. The center fielder drove in the eighth run of the game with a single in the fifth inning.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

This is the first meeting between the Pigs and the Clippers this season. The Clippers are one of two teams that the Pigs have not played during 2018.
The Pigs took four out of six from the Clippers last season. All six games in the series were played in April and the Pigs took two out of three in each series. In each of their wins, the Pigs scored at least four runs and seven in three out of four.

NEXT WEEK AT COCA-COLA PARK

The Pigs will not return to Coca-Cola Park until July 24 when they welcome the Gwinett Stripers. Some highlights for the next homestand include a Christmas in July celebration, Fester's Night, Minions Night, and two themed fireworks displays!
