PITCHING MATCHUP

Ranger Suárez makes his Coca-Cola Park debut against Nick Tepesch. The pitching matchup is presented by Allentown Family Foot Care, which provides the latest in medical and surgical treatments of the entire foot and ankle.
Suarez is making his second career Triple-A start and first at Coca-Cola Park today. Suarez began the season in Double-A Reading going 4-3 with the Fightin Phils. He made one start on the road in Rochester for the Pigs June 29. He did not earn a decision and lasted 4 2/3 allowing eight hits and one run while striking out six. Tepesch is starting for the Bisons is the series finale. Tepesch is 1-6 with a 5.59 this season between Double-A and Triple-A. With the Bisons he is 0-4 with a 6.26 ERA. He faced the Pigs once this season and allowed two runs over five innings in game one of a double header at Coca-Cola Park.

LAST GAME

Ryan Goins put the Pigs up 1-0 when he homered on the second pitch he saw against Buffalo's Thomas Pannone (0-1). In the third, Mitch Walding hit a two-run shot to right-center field increasing the lead to 3-0. One inning later, Nick Rickles left the yard for the second straight night with a two-run home run into the bullpen to put the Pigs up 5-0 against. The IronPigs lead the IL with 94 home runs on the year.
Drew Anderson (6-3) kept the Bisons off balance in his eleventh start of the season. Anderson struck out four and allowed six hits over six-plus innings. Anderson worked into the seventh but left the game after loading the bases with no outs. All three runners would come around to score to close the line on Anderson and make it a 5-3 game.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Overall, the Pigs are 9-3 against Buffalo this season. Since 2015, the Pigs have gone 27-12 at home against Buffalo.
The IronPigs have not lost a season series against the Bisons since 2015. The Pigs win last night ensured that they will at the very least split the season series with the Bisons. Lehigh Valley will play five games in four days when the Pigs return to Coca-Cola Field at the end of the month.
