Randolph’s blast gives Pigs win in Moosic

Cornelius Randolph’s first Triple-A home run is the big hit in Pigs’ win

MOOSIC, PA – Cornelius Randolph hit a two-run home run off Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (6-2) relief pitcher Nick Goody (0-1) in the top of the ninth inning to give the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (6-2) a 3-2 lead. Mauricio Llovera earned his first save of the season by closing out the game

MOOSIC, PA – Cornelius Randolph hit a two-run home run off Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (6-2) relief pitcher Nick Goody (0-1) in the top of the ninth inning to give the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (6-2) a 3-2 lead. Mauricio Llovera earned his first save of the season by closing out the game in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Pigs’ a 3-2 win.

Ronald Torreyes gave the Pigs a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when he hit an RBI double against RailRiders starting pitcher Brody Koerner. A pair of sacrifice flies by Andrew Velazquez and Miguel Andujar in the bottom of the eighth inning against David Paulino (1-0) gave Scranton/Wilkes-Barre a 2-1 lead.

Bailey Falter pitched well for the IronPigs in his second start of the season as he struck out seven batters through five innings. Archie Bradley retired the side and threw just ten pitches in the bottom of the sixth inning for a Good Shepherd Rehabilitation appearance.

Travis Jankowski, Ronald Torreyes, Austin Listi, and Cornelius Randolph all had hits for the IronPigs. Luke Williams seven-game hitting streak came to an end as he went 0-for-3 at the plate.

The IronPigs and RailRiders play at 6:35 p.m. on Thursday evening at PNC Field.
