On Tuesday night, at AT&T Field, the Chattanooga Lookouts were defeated by the Jackson Generals 3-0. Jackson scored the game's first run in the top of the third inning on a line drive double by Kevin Cron, which allowed Victor Reyes to score from first base. The game would remain a pitchers duel for the next four innings.
Jackson added two insurance runs in the top of the eighth, to make the score 3-0. Jackson scored their first run in the eighth inning via a sacrifice fly from Cron. Galli Cribbs scored from third base on Cron's sacrifice fly. Reyes would score Jackson's third and final run of the game when Michal Perez was caught stealing.
Lookouts starting pitcher, Felix Jorge (9-3, 3.44), suffered the loss despite a solid 7.2 innings of work. Jackson starter, Joel Payamps (6-5, 4.96) earned his sixth win of the season. Chattanooga will travel to Birmingham, Alabama on Thursday, August 10th to face the Birmingham Barons in a five game series. Thursday's first pitch is set for 8:05 PM (ET). RHP, Kohl Stewart (5-5, 3.65) will get the start for the Lookouts, and his counterpart will be Birmingham right hander, Jordan Stephens (2-4, 2.32).
