The Chattanooga Lookouts could not overcome a three run sixth inning by the Generals to drop their final home game of the first half, 3-2.
The game started off in the Lookouts favor as they scored a run in the second inning. They added another run in the fifth inning on a Nick Gordon home run. Gordon's homer was was his fifth of the year. He finished the night 2-for-5 and is now hitting .307.
The two run lead looked like it would be enough as starting pitcher Ryan Eades was dominant through five innings. The righty only allowed one hit while striking out three batters. The Lookouts lead would not hold however as Randy LeBlanc surrendered three runs in the top of the sixth.
In the bottom of the ninth Chattanooga started the inning off strong with back-to-back singles by Ryan Walker and Nick Gordon, but the rally fell short. The Lookouts are now one game back of Montgomery for first place in the North Division.
Chattanooga has now wrapped up their home slate of games for the first half. Tomorrow, the team embarks on a ten-game road trip against Montgomery and Tennessee.
The team returns home Thursday, June 22nd against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos! Fans can buy tickets for the second half now at lookouts.com.
