Lookouts Shutout Jumbo Shrimp 7-0

The Chattanooga Lookouts defeated the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp by a score of 7-0 on Saturday night at AT&T Field, in game three of the five game series between the two teams. For Chattanooga, their victory on Saturday night, was their third consecutive against the Jumbo Shrimp in three days.

Right-hander, Dereck Rodriguez, took the mound for the Lookouts to start the game. Rodriguez went 3.0 innings, managing to scatter four hits. Rodriguez did not allow a run, issued two walks, and struck out four on the night.

Chattanooga's bats proved to be red hot once again, as they scored seven runs on twelve hits. Chattanooga got the scoring started in the bottom of the first inning when Jon Rodriguez doubled on a line drive to left field, allowing LaMonte Wade to score from third base on the hit.

The Lookouts took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning when Rodriguez crushed his eleventh home run of the season, a deep fly ball over the left field wall. Chattanooga extended their lead 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning after Nick Gordon sent a line drive single into left field to plate Travis Harrison from second base.

Chattanooga's offense exploded for four more runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. Max Murphy got the scoring started with a sacrifice fly to right field, which was deep enough for Nick Gordon to easily score from third base. Andy Wilkins followed with a scorching RBI single to right field. Rodriguez scored from third on Wilkins hit. T.J. White rounded out the scoring for the Lookouts on a high note by hammering a two-run homer to left field. White's home run in the bottom of the seventh inning was his second in back-to-back games, after he homered in the second inning of Friday night's game.

Rodriguez was named Henpecked Chicken's Hot Player of the Game after going 3-for-4 at the plate with a HR, 2B, 2R, and 2 RBI in Saturday night's game. Rodriguez finished his night a triple shy of hitting for the cycle. RHP, Raul Fernandez was named the Ace of the Game, after pitching 3.0 innings allowing just one hit, while striking out five. Fernandez did not allow a run, and he also earned his third win of the season after his sensational performance on the mound.

Chattanooga and Jacksonville will square off in game four of their five game series at AT&T Field on Sunday, July 16th at 5:15 PM (ET). RHP, Fernando Romero (7-6, 2.78) will get the start for Chattanooga. Jacksonville will also elect to send a right-hander to the mound in the form of Chris Mazza (1-5, 3.11). Sunday's game will headlined by Autograph Sunday, a 15 minute post game autograph session in the Parkridge Picnic Pavilion where fans can snag the autographs from their favorite Lookouts.
