The Chattanooga Lookouts defeated the Chattanooga State Tigers, 7-0 in their annual exhibition game.
Chattanooga scored quickly in the first inning. After loading the bases, Zander Wiel knocked in three runs on a well hit double to left field. They added three more in the fourth inning on doubles by Ryan Walker and LaMonte Wade.
RHP Kohl Stewart got the win for the Lookouts, striking out six in 4.2 innings. Omar Bencomo and Ryne Harper combined for 2.1 innings in relief.
Shortstop Hayden Lock, DH Theron Powell and RF Max Schmal each recorded a hit for the Tigers. Peyton Baker entered the game in the second inning and delivered 1.2 scoreless frames.
After an off day tomorrow the Lookouts begin their regular season on Thursday, April 5 at 6:15 p.m. Opening Day features a poster giveaway (2,000), a championship ring giveaway and postgame Fireworks! Tickets for the team's first homestand can be found at Lookouts.com.
