Dow Diamond's 'Mid-Michigan's Got Talent' is Back!

Great Lakes Loons seeking skilled entertainers to perform at ballpark in 2014
January 14, 2014

MIDLAND, Mich. - The Great Lakes Loons are once again hoping to uncover some of the area's most talented individuals during the seventh annual "Mid-Michigan's Got Talent" on Saturday, Feb. 15 from 9 a.m. to noon. Top qualifiers in the event will be invited to showcase their skills during a Loons home game in 2014.

The Loons are seeking vocalists and instrumentalists to perform the national anthem before home games, as well as other talented individuals possessing unique forms of entertainment. This could include jugglers, magicians, caricature artists, one-man bands, turkey callers, weight-lifters and anyone else with a skill that could be considered entertaining.

"Every year the Great Lakes Bay Region produces a very talented display of high-quality entertainment," said Chris Mundhenk, Loons Vice President of Marketing and Entertainment. "Last year's event uncovered many new performers for Dow Diamond, and we hope the same will hold true with this year's event."

Mundhenk, Production Manager Trent Elliott and Promotions Manager Amber Ferris will serve as judges during auditions, which will take place in Dow Diamond's Great Lakes Reserve presented by Chemical Bank.

National anthem singers must perform a capella. Because of time constraints, bands are ask to drop off a demo tape, CD, or DVD with full contact information to Amber Ferris, c/o Dow Diamond, 825 E. Main St., Midland, MI 48640. Participants are encouraged to pre-register for the event, though walk-up auditions are permissible. Anyone unable to participate in "Mid-Michigan's Got Talent" may also send in a demo instead.

The Great Lakes Loons are an eighth-year Single-A partner of the Los Angeles Dodgers. For tickets or general information, visit Loons.com or call 989-837-BALL.
