Loons Launch Michigan Legends Series for 2013 Season
MIDLAND, Mich. - The Great Lakes Loons are excited to announce a new promotion for 2013, the Michigan Legends Series presented by MidMichigan Health. The series, a fresh spin on the Loons successful Red Wings Legends Series, will include six Loons home games paying tribute to former athletes from the state of Michigan. As part of the Michigan Legends Series, four athletes are scheduled to appear at Dow Diamond and meet with Loons fans.
The luminaries scheduled to appear are former MSU two-sport legend and MLB All-Star Steve Garvey, Flint native and 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey gold medalist Ken Morrow, head coach of MSU's 1979 NCAA championship basketball team Jud Heathcote and MSU basketball legend Greg Kelser, also a member of the 1979 title team.
In addition to the legends scheduled to appear, a commemorative item will be given away at two games: a Dow Diamond stadium replica on July 24 and a Tiger Stadium replica on August 28. A turn back the clock night and Loons retro jersey-off-the-back auction is also scheduled as part of the series on July 2. Fans can purchase the Michigan Legends Series ticket package for just $54.

The Michigan Legends Series ticket package is available now through the Loons ticket office at 989.837.BALL. With the package, fans will receive box seats to each of the Loons six home games in the series, two commemorative giveaways and the opportunity to meet the four Michigan sports legends visiting Dow Diamond.
