MIDLAND, Mich. - A win wasn't in cards for the Great Lakes Loons on Sunday afternoon against the Beloit Snappers as they fell 7-1 to push their losing streak to a franchise-record 10 games. The streak now surpasses the previous record of nine games which occurred in May 2013.
The opponent has scored first in nine of the games during the streak and has scored in the first three innings nine times, as well. The Loons have also allowed at least five runs in every game of the slide and have scored more than three runs just once.
It was another strenuous afternoon for the Great Lakes (8-16, 44-49) offense as they were only able to muster three hits as a team with
Beloit (13-11, 45-48) barreled up Great Lakes pitching all day with their seven runs coming on 12 hits.
The Loons will attempt to snap the skid on Monday afternoon with a special 2:05 p.m. first pitch.
