MIDLAND, Mich. - The Midwest League Champion Great Lakes Loons are pleased to announce their 2017 schedule that features 70 home games at Dow Diamond, along with the MWL All-Star Game on June 19-20. The Loons will open the season against the Lansing Lugnuts in Midland on April 6-7 and close out 2017 at home against the Lake County Captains on Sept. 2-4.

For the second time since the team's inception, the Loons will play host to the Midwest League's all-star game in 2017. The one other time the game came to mid-Michigan was in 2008. The festivities will take place over two days on Monday and Tuesday of the mid-season break.

Opening Day at Dow Diamond will be Thursday, April 6, the start of a four-game, home-and-home series with the Lugnuts to kick off the season. First pitch will be at 6:05 p.m. with the Loons Opening Day Celebration featuring a parade down Main St. taking place prior to gates opening.

April will see the Loons play 12 home games, with weekend dates having a 2:05 p.m. first pitch. The remaining games are slated for 6:05 p.m. starts. There will be an additional weekday afternoon game on Wednesday, April 26.

The ever-popular $1 Family Feast Night, presented by Chemical Bank, will once again take over the ballpark every Thursday home game. On those 11 dates, fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs, 16 oz. Pepsi products, chips and ice cream sandwiches throughout the game.

Kids Eat Free Sundays, presented by Soaring Eagle Waterpark & Hotel, will return for a third consecutive season. There will be 10 afternoon matinees offering kids 12 and under the opportunity to receive a free hot dog, chips and 16 oz. drink. Kids can also run the bases following the game on Sundays, courtesy of Farm Bureau Insurance.

Also returning in 2016 will be Fireworks Loontaculars. Fans have the chance to enjoy a free fireworks show after the game. There are 12 firework displays scheduled for next season: June 3, June 10, June 24, July 1, July 3, July 15, July 28, August 5, August 16, August 25, August 26 and September 2.

School Kids Days at Dow Diamond will happen on three separate occasions: May 4, May 17 and May 25. Local schools are encouraged to bring groups of students to the ballpark with first pitch at 10:35 a.m.
