LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville Bats organization and the Louisville sports community lost a long-time leader and friend in the passing of Dale Owens on Thursday, January 11.
Owens was the Louisville Redbirds and Bats General Manager for more than 25 years. He also played an important role in the move from Louisville Cardinal Stadium to Louisville Slugger Field for the 2000 season.
The Louisville Bats are deeply saddened by the passing of Dale and express their sadness from his passing and send condelences to his family. For many years he made baseball in Louisville a great experience for everyone that came to games.
