Clinton, IA - The Clinton LumberKings have officially announced their 2014 season schedule with games times to be determined at a later date. Clinton will play 70 home games at Ashford University Field and 70 road games throughout the Midwest League. For the sixth consecutive season, the LumberKings will play as a Seattle Mariners affiliate.
For the second time in as many years, the LumberKings open the season on the road. Clinton heads to Cedar Rapids for a four-game series with Opening Day set for Thursday, April 3.
The LumberKings' home opener is set for Tuesday, April 8 against the Lake County Captains. With inter-division play beginning early in 2014, Clinton welcomes the Fort Wayne TinCaps after the three-game series against Lake County and then head to Dayton and Bowling Green the following week.
Clinton plays Burlington the most out of any Midwest League opponent with 19 scheduled meetings. They play Cedar Rapids 18 times, Beloit and Quad Cities 17 times and have 15 scheduled meetings with Wisconsin, Kane County and Peoria.
The first half concludes in Peoria on Sunday, June 15 before the entire Midwest League breaks for the 2014 All-Star Game from Monday, June 16 until Thursday, June 19. The West Michigan Whitecaps will host the 2014 All-Star Game at Fifth Third Ballpark (Comstock Park, MI) on Tuesday, June 17.
After closing the first half on the road, the second half begins with the LumberKings in Beloit to take on the Snappers in a four-game series.
After an off day for the MLB All-Star Game in Minnesota on Tuesday, July 15, the second round of inter-division play begins. Clinton travels to Great Lakes and Lansing and welcomes West Michigan and South Bend to Ashford University Field.
The regular season concludes at Ashford University Field when the LumberKings host the Kernels in a three-game series from August 30-September 1. The 2014 Midwest League Playoffs will open Wednesday, September 3.
The most home games in a month for the LumberKings comes in August with 18 home dates scheduled. They will play the least amount of home games in June with only nine scheduled.
The longest home stand of the season is an 11-day, 10-game span in May. Peoria is in town for a three-game series May 8-10 before the entire league is off for Mother's Day Sunday, May 11. Following the off day, Clinton hosts Burlington for three and then Beloit for four.
The longest road trip of the season is ten games, when the LumberKings head to Quad Cities, Wisconsin and Burlington from April 28-May 7.
