CLINTON, IA (April 19, 2017) - The Clinton LumberKings continued to hit home runs Wednesday afternoon at Ashford University Field, this time in a win, 6-3 over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. Kristian Brito slugged his second home run of the series and Rayder Ascanio, in his second year with the LumberKings, hit his first home run in Clinton.

The LumberKings (6-7) have now hit seven home runs over their last four games after hitting just one home run in their first nine games.

The LumberKings struck first with Kristian Brito's second inning solo home run to left field, his second of the season and in the series.

Leading 1-0, LumberKings starter Brandon Miller shutout Wisconsin through the first two innings before the Timber Rattlers (6-7) came back to take the lead with a two-run rally in the top of the third inning. Miller (2-1) gave up three consecutive singles with one out in the frame to start the rally, and Monte Harrison capped the inning with a two-out RBI single to center for a 2-1 Timber Rattlers lead.

In the bottom of the fourth, the LumberKings tied the game on a Dimas Ojeda two-out RBI double down the third baseline that scored Luis Liberato.

The following inning, the LumberKings took the lead for good with a three-run fifth inning. Nick Thurman led off the frame with a double high off the wall in left, he went 2-for-3 on the day, and scored after Luis Rengifo wore down Wisconsin pitcher Trey Supak by lining the ninth pitch of the at-bat into center field for an RBI single. The hit was the last batter Supak (0-1) faced as the Timber Rattlers went to the bullpen to face Ascanio. On the third pitch of the at-bat Ascanio lofted a ball high into right field that continued to carry and hit off the top of the right field wall before kicking over the fence for a two-run home run.

The LumberKings added an insurance run in the eighth on Brito's second RBI of the day, a two-out double to left center field.

The LumberKings bullpen held the Timber Rattlers to one run over the final four innings. Steven Moyers, making his 2017 home debut, worked two innings allowing one run to earn his first hold of the year. Robert Dugger finished the Timber Rattlers off with two shutout innings of relief including a 1-2-3 ninth inning to earn his second save of the year.

The LumberKings will hit the road for a seven-game road trip starting on Thursday against the Quad Cities River Bandits.
