Two spectacular, fun-filled events have combined to create a massive party to support the Lynchburg Humane Society and allow local residents to kick back and relax on the first Saturday of October.

Two spectacular, fun-filled events have combined to create a massive party to support the Lynchburg Humane Society and allow local residents to kick back and relax on the first Saturday of October.

On October 7, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., fans can attend both the Quarter-Mile Beer Run and SlobberStock at Lynchburg City Stadium. Furthering their outstanding partnership, the Lynchburg Hillcats and Lynchburg Humane Society have combined each of their signature October events to increase the fun and scope of the day.
More than 10 different breweries as well as food trucks and multiple live bands will be at the celebration. Tickets to participate in the Quarter-Mile Beer Run can be purchased in advance on the team website and are only $20. The package includes two drink tickets, a T-shirt, and a medal. If fans do not purchase tickets in advance, they can buy them on-site for $25 on October 7. Fans simply wishing to enjoy the atmosphere and not participate in the Quarter-Mile Beer Run can attend for free, although they are encouraged to make a $5 donation to the Lynchburg Humane Society.

Some of the companies already committed to the Quarter-Mile Beer Run include Apocalypse, Blue Mountain, Bold Rock, Devils Backbone, Fair Winds, Starr Hill Brewery, Coors Light, Miller Lite, Bud, Bud Light, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Sierra Nevada and DeVault Family Vineyards.

Three different live bands will play throughout the afternoon. Spare Parts is currently scheduled to open at 12 p.m. Marie Anderson Hall will follow at 1:45, and Long Mountain Band will take the stage at 3:30. Each band will play for a 90-minute set.
Numerous food trucks will be present. Cheesy Rider, Calle Cruz Miami, T&E Catering Food Truck and Jacked Rabbit have all confirmed they will be there, and many others are expected to join soon.

In addition to the food and beverages, there will be at least five games of cornhole available at any given time thanks to Sabrina Tomlin Realtor, Fur Kidz, Vision Marketing, Beehler Kids and Bobby Babcock. Prizes will be awarded to fans wearing the best costumes and coming up with the best team names to compete.
The Hillcats' Fun Zone featuring an inflatable obstacle course, bounce house, and speed pitch will be open, and there will also be a tie-dye station presented by Grace Properties. Additionally, root beer will be available for kids, so fans are encouraged to bring the entire family for a unique way to have fun at City Stadium in the offseason.
Additional vendors in attendance will be Flat Creek, Mary Kay, and Southern Charm, with many more expected to join. Other sponsors supporting the event include Point Source Audio, WYYD, STEVE FM, Virginia Vet Specialist and RSG Landscaping.
