M-Braves Announce 2015 Schedule

Double-A Braves set to open the 2015 season on Thursday, April 9

PEARL, MS -- The 2015 season marks the Mississippi Braves 11th season at Trustmark Park in Pearl. The Double-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves begins the season Thursday, April 9 with a five-game homestand against the Tennessee Smokies.

 

Since making the move from Greenville, SC, in 2005, Mississippi fans have seen more than 85 former M-Braves make their Major League debuts and 14 of those were called up directly from Double-A Mississippi. The M-Braves have made it to the playoffs three times and won the 2008 Southern League Championship.

 

The 2015 season features 70 games at Trustmark Park and 70 games on the road during the 140-game regular season. After the opening five-game homestand, the M-Braves take a day off and travel to Jackson, TN, for five games against the Generals. The Braves return to Trustmark Park for a five-game series against the Chattanooga Lookouts April 20-24.

                                                                                          

Mississippi takes on Mobile at Hank Aaron Stadium April 25-29 before coming home to face Montgomery for five games. The M-Braves take a day off on May 5 and then travel to Biloxi for five games at the newest Southern League stadium. Mid-May starts with a five-game homestand against Mobile before a 10-game road trip to Pensacola and Jacksonville. The road trip ends on Memorial Day.

 

After an off day, the M-Braves kick off a 10-game homestand May 27 with two five-game series against Pensacola and Jackson. The Braves travel to Montgomery and then return to Trustmark Park June 11-15 to welcome the new Biloxi club. Mississippi goes to Kodak, TN, to wrap up the first half of the season with five-games against the Smokies.

 

The Southern League teams take three days off for the All-Star Break, June 22-24. The 2015 Southern League All-Star Game takes place at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery. The second half of the season begins at Trustmark Park with a five-game series against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos. The M-Braves open the month of July with a three-game series at Biloxi.

 

After spending two seasons on the road for July 4, Trustmark Park will host its Independence Day Celebration on July 4-kicking off a five-game set with the Jackson Generals. Mississippi goes to Chattanooga for five games and comes back home for five against the Suns July 15-19. The Braves head to The Ballpark at Jackson for two games and return home for five-games against the BayBears. The series concludes July 26.

 

The M-Braves travel to Birmingham at the end of July for five games before hosting the Biscuits August 2-6. Mississippi hits the road for another 10-game road trip starting with a five-game series in Biloxi. The Braves head to Mobile to wrap up the trip and then take a day off before a five-game homestand against the Barons.

 

Mississippi goes to Pensacola August 23-27. The final homestand of the 2015 regular season features a five-game series against Biloxi. The Braves then take another day off before wrapping up the 2015 season with a five-game set at Jacksonville.
