NILES, OH- In a rather one sided game the Mahoning Valley Scrappers would drop their seventh straight. The State College Spikes took an early lead in the 3rd inning and never looked back. The loss drops the Scrappers record to (19-23-2) and 7.5 games out of first in the MLB Draft League.

State College struck first in the 3rd inning. With runners on first and second Trent Lewis singled into right field driving in the first run of the game. Brady Brecklin followed the next at-bat with another RBI single. After loading the bases, Scrappers' starter John Medich gave up a 375 foot grand slam to Marques Paige(

_Prep Baseball Report_). The massive inning gave State College an early 6-0 lead.

The Spikes would add another in the 5th after Zacchaeus Rasberry drove in the seventh run of the night when he hit an infield single to shortstop.

In the bottom of the 6th the Scrappers offense would finally show life. Collin Gordon and Jarrod Belbin were walked in back-to-back at-bats with one out. With runners on first and second Jason Hinchman blasted a 432 foot three-run no doubt homer to left center cutting the lead down to 7-3.

State College scored three more in the 8th. They added two runs on RBI singles by Cy Kerber, and Rasberry. The last run came when Lukas Cook grounded out to third. At the conclusion of the top of the 8th the Scrappers were down 10-3.

Offensively, the Scrappers only had five hits. The only player with a multi-hit game was Ethan Kavanaugh, he was 2-4 at the dish with two singles.
