MEMPHIS, TN – The Memphis Redbirds powered their way to an 11-2 victory over the Indianapolis Indians on Sunday afternoon at AutoZone Park. After scoring just one run over their last 20 innings, the Redbirds offense tallied eight runs on 14 hits, including seven extra-base hits.

The scoring started in the third with the Indians taking a 1-0 lead on an RBI single from Cal Mitchell, but Memphis answered right back in the bottom of the inning, scoring four runs on four hits. After Alec Burleson tied the game with an RBI single, Moises Gomez crushed the first pitch he saw beyond the bullpen in left-center field for his 32nd home run of the year and his 9th with Memphis. The Redbirds added another run after a leadoff walk and a bloop single from Luken Baker.

In the sixth, Diego Castillo’s solo home run cut the lead to 4-2 but Memphis tallied a pair after a Conner Capel solo home run and a bases-loaded walk. In the seventh, Baker scored two with a double and then added two more RBIs with his 20th home run on the year in the eighth.

Baker finished the day 3-for-5 with 5 RBIs, tied for a career-high. Capel finished 3-for-4 with four runs scored. Burleson and Gomez had two hits each.

The Memphis Redbirds (58-52) head to Georgia following a Monday off day to take on the Gwinnett Stripers in a six-game series. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. CDT on Tuesday night.
