MEMPHIS, TN – The Memphis Redbirds dropped game three of a six-game series to the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp at 121 Financial Ballpark on Thursday night by the final score of 5-1.

Memphis placed two runners aboard in five innings on Thursday night but could only cash in on one opportunity. With two outs in the top of the seventh inning, right fielder Moises Gomez singled in third baseman Roberto Baldoquin for the lone Redbirds run of the night. In total, Memphis stranded 11 runners and went 1-for-11 with runners in scoring position.

On the positive side, both Gomez and Baldoquin recorded two-hit nights and first baseman Luken Baker walked twice. The two walks mark the first time this season that Baker walked multiple times and is one off his career high, set on July 25th last season.

On the mound, starting pitcher Connor Thomas (5-5) started strong, but allowed three runs in his final inning of work. In total, the left-handed pitcher tossed 5.0 innings, allowed four runs on seven hits, walked two and struck out four. Relievers Freddy Pacheco and Junior Fernandez each threw scoreless innings.

The Memphis Redbirds (54-47) return to 121 Financial Ballpark on Friday night against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (57-45), Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins for a scheduled 6:05 p.m. CDT first pitch.
