Redbirds Lose 3-1 To Las Vegas

Memphis Held To Four Singles On The Day

JUPITER, Flor. - The Memphis Redbirds fell 3-1 on Sunday to the Las Vegas 51s (AAA-Mets) in a spring tilt at Roger Dean Stadium Complex. The Redbirds collected four hits and gave up seven on the day. 

Ryan Jackson, Brock Peterson, Justin Christian and Mike O'Neill all singled while Redbirds' batters walked four times.

All three runs allowed by Memphis pitchers were earned. Starter Richard Castillo gave up two runs in four innings of work. James Hooker threw a scoreless three innings of middle relief with no hits and two strikeouts. Kevin Siegrist pitched the final two innings; striking out one, walking one while giving up a run on two hits.

The Redbirds return to action Tuesday, facing the Las Vegas 51s at the Mets Stadium Complex in Port St. Lucie.
