For the third straight game, the San Antonio Missions rallied in the ninth inning Sunday afternoon at Security Bank Ballpark. This time, however, the RockHounds had made the "baseball mountain" much tougher to climb, taking a 10-0 advantage into the ninth. The Missions broke up the shutout bid, but the 'Hounds claimed a 10-2 victory, winning the four-game series, 3-1.
Seth Brown and Skye Bolt led a 14-hit attack that backed a third consecutive outstanding performance from starter Parker Dunshee (see below). The right-hander tossed six shutout innings, allowing four hits, two walks and one hit batsmen, while striking out five.
Brown went 3-for-4, with three doubles and four RBI, while Bolt's three-run home run capped the scoring. It was his third home run as many games, including Friday night's dramatic walk-off shot in the 13th inning.
Nate Mondou (2-for-3, two RBI), Tyler Ramirez (2-for-4, two runs, RBI) and Jason Goldstein (2-for-5, run) also had multi-hit games.
The 'Hounds' first three runs came against the Texas League's top pitcher, Logan Allen. The Missions' left-hander entered the game leading the league in wins (10), ERA (2.62), strikeouts (122), WHIP (1.02) and opponent average (.199).

Not sure if it's in next year's schedule, but the Texas League's annual "gauntlet" is in the books. Sunday's games marked the end of the 26-games-in-26-days stretch, accompanied by bus rides and 100-plus degree first pitches. When all of Sunday's games were "boxed (score) up, the league's clubs had played every day from July11 through August 5.
