All Stars Take Center Stage On Wednesday

The Texas League unveiled the 2009 All Star rosters on Tuesday and nine RockHounds were named to this year's game in Frisco. The nine invites tied Springfield for tops in the league.

This year's game will be held at Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco on Wednesday, July 1st.

Travis Banwart
Oaklands 4th round draft choice in 2007 out of Wichita State. Banwart is tied for 6th in the league with 5 wins. (5-2, 4.45 ERA)

Adrian Cardenas
Acquired from the Phillies in the Joe Blanton trade, the 21-year-old is Oakland's #5 prospect. Cardenas leads the league in batting with a .382 average.

Chris Carter
Acquired from Arizona in the Dan Haren trade, the 22-year-old is Oakland's #6 prospect and is among the TL's top five in runs, RBI, doubles, hits and extra base hits.

Sam Demel
Selected by Oakland in the 3rd round of the 2007 draft out of TCU. Demel is 4th in the league in saves (9), has a 0.68 ERA (9 walks and 22 strikeouts) in 24 appearances.

Josh Donaldson
Acquired from the Cubs in the Rich Harden trade, the 23-year-old catcher is Oakland's #13 prospect and is among the TL's top five in doubles and extra base hits.

Tommy Everidge
Promoted to (AAA) Sacramento after hitting .306 with 8 HR and 53 RBI. Everidge led the league with 115 RBI in 2008 and will go down as one of the top power hitters in Midland franchise history.

Jason Fernandez
Oakland's 11th round draft choice in 2006 out of Louisiana-Lafayette, shares the league lead with 6 wins. Combined for a 2-hit shutout at Arkansas on April 10th.

Graham Godfrey
Acquired from the Blue Jays in the Marco Scutaro trade, Godfrey is 5-4, with a 3.61 ERA and 5th in the TL with 53 K's. In his last 10 starts, Godfrey is 5-2 with a 2.67 ERA.

Josh Horton
Oakland's 2nd round draft choice in 2007 out of the University of North Carolina, Josh is hitting .282 with 3 HR and 32 RBI. Horton is also 11th in the league with 38 runs scored.

Corey Brown
Corey Brown was added to take the place of San Antonio's Mike Baxter. Brown was taken in the compensation round of the 2007 draft after attending the Oklahoma State University.
