App tracks every pitch from IL, PCL

As division races heat up and the playoffs rapidly approach, baseball fans now have yet another way to keep tabs on their favorite Triple-A teams and top-level prospects while on the go.

The newly launched "MiLB.com Triple-A" app -- now available for free download at the App Store and compatible with both the iPhone and iPod touch -- delivers a host of exclusive features within a user-friendly interface modeled after the award-winning MLB At Bat 2011.

Along with in-depth news and stats from across the International and Pacific Coast Leagues, fans can follow every Triple-A game -- from Pawtucket to Fresno -- with Gameday pitch-by-pitch tracker. Like its website counterpart, Gameday for the MiLB.com Triple-A app delivers pitch details, up-to-the-moment scoring, play-by-play summaries and more -- for the regular season, through the playoffs and including the Triple-A National Championship in Albuquerque on Sept. 20.

"More and more fans are interacting with our network through a variety of mobile devices, an experience further extended by the introduction of MiLB.com's first official mobile application for iPhone," said Art Matin, chairman of the board for the Baseball Internet Rights Company (BIRCO), a wholly owned subsidiary of Minor League Baseball. "We're thrilled that our fans are embracing our network and doing so through multiple interfaces."

Other app features include a customizable home screen that allows fans to focus on a particular Triple-A team -- from the Bisons and Bats to the Bees and Zephyrs -- while maintaining easy access to the rest of the clubs, archived box scores from both leagues for the entire year, as well as standings, schedules and rosters.

Fans can also access the full mobile websites of each Triple-A team directly through the app, providing a convenient portal to all of Minor League Baseball. Launched last season, MiLB.com's far-reaching mobile network quickly established itself as a primary go-to resource. Covering every team across every Minor League level, from Triple-A to the Rookie and complex leagues, these sites provide in-depth information like stat leaders, game details, team-specific news and much more on any web-enabled device.
