Arizona Diamondbacks Announce 2013 Minor League Coaches

The Arizona Diamondbacks Director of Player Development, Mike Bell, announced the 2013 coaching staff for the South Bend Silver Hawks. Mark Haley will be returning for his ninth consecutive season. During his time in South Bend, Haley has a record of 554-552. He has coached the Silver Hawks to five consecutive playoff appearances from 2005 to 2009, including a Midwest League championship in 2005.

Returning with him will be pitching coach, Wellington Cepeda, for his fourth season with the Hawks. Cepeda spent five years as a pitcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks organization before perusing coaching. New to the Silver Hawks coaching staff is hitting coach, Jason Camilli, promoted from the Diamondbacks' short season team in Yakima, WA. Camilli is a Phoenix native and played for the Montreal Expos organization from 1994 to 2000. He also spent two seasons the Texas League from 2001 to 2002. During his minor league career he played all four infield positions.

In addition to the on field coaching staff, South Bend welcomes a new team trainer, Masa Abe, and strength and conditioning coach, Skyler Zarndt. Zarndt is a 2008 graduate of the University of Iowa and has spent time working with both the training department and strength and conditioning department at Bradley University. Abe is coming to the Silver Hawks from the Missoula Ospray. He was recognized as the 2012 Pioneer League Trainer of the Year.
