Astros getting a new look in 10th season

Seeking fan input on mascots
October 12, 2012

Greeneville, TN - The upcoming 2013 season will mark the 10th year for the Greeneville Astros as a member of the Appalachian League, but the club will have a brand new look beginning next season. The Astros are following the lead of their parent club in Houston by changing the club's logos, uniforms and color schemes beginning next season. The date of the unveiling of these changes will be announced later this fall.

In addition to the previously mentioned changes, the Astros are also asking for fan feedback on the team's mascots. Tennessee Tex has been the Astros' mascot since the club's inaugural season in 2004 and was joined by his sister, Tennessee Tess, in 2006. However, with the other changes coming next season, the Astros would like to hear from fans as to whether they want to see Tex and Tess continue to be part of the Astros or move forward with a brand new team mascot.

Fans may let their opinion be known through the Astros' poll question on www.greenevilleastros.com, the Astros' Facebook page, the Astros' Twitter page or by calling the Astros at (423) 638-0411.
