B-Mets Embark on 14-Game Spring Schedule
The Binghamton Mets released their Spring Training schedule today, which features 14 exhibition contests against the Double-A affiliates of the Houston Astros, Florida Marlins, St. Louis Cardinals and Washington Nationals March 16-April 1 in South Florida. The B-Mets will enjoy seven home games at the Mets complex in Port St. Lucie, FL and seven on the road featuring visits to Astros camp in Kissimmee, Nats camp in Viera and the Marlins and Cardinals Spring Training home in Jupiter.
The B-Mets open Spring Training play this afternoon with a 1 PM contest against the Corpus Christi Hooks (Double-A affiliate of the Houston Astros). All spring matchups for the Double-A Mets will begin at 1 PM.
The team is due to break camp April 3 to begin the trek to NYSEG Stadium where the players will converge before traveling to Akron for the season opener April 7. The B-Mets return home to open their 71-game home schedule Thursday, April 14 at 6:35 PM against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.
