Back to the Futures for Spinners at Fenway
After a one-year hiatus, the Class-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox will return to America's Most Beloved Ballpark to participate in the fifth annual Futures at Fenway presented by Xfinity minor league doubleheader, scheduled for Saturday, July 10 at Fenway Park.
Similar to the four previous events, family-friendly ticket and concession prices along with kid-friendly activities will highlight this day of minor league fun at America's Most Beloved Ballpark. The games in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 were played in front of capacity crowds eager to see the Red Sox stars of tomorrow.
The Spinners will take on the Jamestown Jammers, a Florida Marlins affiliate, with a 12:05 scheduled first pitch in the first half of the double header.
Lowell will bring a perfect 3-0 record to Fenway, winning in dramatic fashion in each of their Fenway appearances.
At the inaugural event Jonathan's younger brother Joshua closed out a thrilling victory with a 1-2-3 9th inning save. Not impressed, Jorge Jimenez delivered a walk-off, RBI double to deliver the Spinners a win in 2007.
The 2008 team however took exciting to another level, heading into extra innings. After Dennis Neuman preserved a tie game, Will Middlebrooks came through with a bases loaded single to defeat the Hudson Valley Renegades for the second consecutive season at Fenway.
"Playing at Fenway is such a phenomenal experience for both fans and players alike," said Spinners Vice President and General Manager Tim Bawmann. "We are thrilled to be back at Fenway Park!"
The Spinners will be joined at Fenway by the Salem Red Sox, the Red Sox' Single-A affiliate in the Carolina League, for their Futures at Fenway debut. The Sox will battle the Potomac Nationals (Single-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals Organization) in the second game of the doubleheader.
Kids attending the event will be selected randomly throughout the day to participate in a number of exciting activities, such as participating in mascot races and taking part in other on-field activities. Additionally, youngsters will be able to get autographs from the players during autograph sessions scheduled on the Big Concourse.
The highlight of the day however stands to be the chance to play catch on the field following the second game, a rare opportunity not often available to the public.
Tickets will be available for fans to sit in ballpark locations many have never before had the chance to enjoy, such as the Green Monster Seats, on the Right Field Roof Deck, in the Dugout Seats, and EMC Club and State Street Pavilion. Prices will start as low as $5.00 (for Bleacher seats) and range up to just $30.00 (for Green Monster Seats, Dugout Seats, the EMC Club and the State Street Pavilion Club). In addition, discounted concession items will be available for fans attending Futures at Fenway.
Red Sox season ticket holders, members of Red Sox Nation and members of Red Sox Kid Nation presented by Hood have a first opportunity to purchase tickets. Those fans have already been contacted with details.

Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino approached the Red Sox four years ago with the idea to host minor league games at Fenway Park.

Although records are incomplete, the games in 2006 are believed to be the first minor league games played at Fenway Park since the 1977 Eastern League All-Star Game. The last known regular season minor league game played at Fenway had been a 1966 Eastern League contest between Pittsfield (Red Sox) and Pawtucket (Indians).
