EUGENE - Salem-Keizer built an early edge over Eugene on Saturday evening, but the Emeralds roared back with a bases-clearing double in the seventh inning to steal a 3-2 series-clinching victory over the Volcanoes at PK Park.

The top of the first saw the Volcanoes take an early 2-0 lead. Joe Rapp doubled to ignite Salem-Kezier's offense, as Brennan Metzger scored on the play. Another run was pushed across when Rapp scored on an RBI single by Mitch Delfino.

With the bases loaded in the seventh for the Em's following a hit and two walks, Jeremy Baltz lined a double to left field to grant the Emeralds the 3-2 lead, a lead which would prove to hold up.

The Volcanoes, however, did out-hit Eugene 6-5 in the contest. Ryan Jones was the only batter with multiple hits for Salem-Keizer, as he went two-for-four with a double. Jeremy Baltz of Eugene led all batters with three hits and three RBIs in the game.

Cameron Lamb went three innings in his first start of the season for the Volcanoes. Lamb gave up just one hit and one walk while striking out two. Randy Ziegler earned the loss after giving up the go-ahead double. Joe Church received the win for the Em's after his one inning of one-hit, shutout ball, while Christopher Nunn pitched the final three outs to earn the save.

Salem-Keizer will return home to Volcanoes Stadium for a short three-game series with the Vancouver Canadians, beginning on Sunday and lasting through Tuesday night. Sunday's contest will get underway at 5:05p.m., while Monday and Tuesday's contests will begin at 6:35p.m. It is the third-to-last series of the 2012 season and second-to-last home series, so be sure to head out to the stadium to support the Volcanoes!
