Bases Merlot-ed Ballpark Wine Tour

June 8th event to benefit Shakespeare in the Park
May 9, 2012

How would you like to stroll around Coca-Cola Field with a wine glass in hand, enjoying a variety of local samples while contributing to a long-standing Buffalo tradition?

It's like a Midsummer Night's Dream.

The Bisons have announced the return of the 3rd annual "Bases Merlot-ed" Ballpark Wine Trail, to benefit Shakespeare in Delaware Park, Friday, June 8 (6-10 p.m.) at Coca-Cola Field. A $25 pre-sale ticket gives you free wine tastings from many different vineyards across the Niagara and Finger Lakes regions as well as the world.  A collectible wine glass is included, with complimentary cheese and gelato tastings, as well.

Event proceeds go to Shakespeare in Delaware Park, a perennial Buffalo event that dates back to 1976. Shakespeare in Delaware Park is one of the country's largest outdoor Shakespeare festivals, allowing attendees to relax and enjoy Shakespeare's stories in the park.

Not many areas of the ballpark are off-limits for this event. Pettibones Grille and Catering Center and the Bully Hill Party Deck will be open for business, and attendees are free to explore the field. A mix of local food selections will be available for purchase throughout the evening as well, giving the event a distinct Buffalo-area flair.

Bases Merlot-ed will also include silent and chance auctions on a variety of items, with proceeds again going toward Shakespeare in Delaware Park.  Actors from Shakespeare in Delaware Park will be wandering throughout the ballpark to entertain thou.

Who knows, you might even find a new favorite wine or two to take home.

Tickets are available by clicking HERE, or by calling the Bisons at (716) 846-2032.

Don't miss your chance to set foot on the Bases Merlot-ed Ballpark Wine Trail, and kick your summer off right with a classic Buffalo night.
