Bats Tie Indy, Fall to Rochester Over Weekend
On Saturday, Homer Bailey started on the mound and went four innings, allowing five runs on seven hits while striking out six. Andrew Good pitched four innings of scoreless baseball and Brad Salmon had a perfect ninth inning of relief.
Jay Bruce and Enrique Cruz each hit solo home runs in the bottom of the 9th inning to force the game into a tie. Paul Janish, Jeff Bannon, and Caonabo Cosme each had solo home runs for Louisville as well and Aaron Herr went 3-for-4.
On Sunday, starting pitcher Tom Shearn gave up six runs on five hits in four innings of work. Jason Kershner and Ricky Stone pitched scoreless innings of relief for Louisville.
Earl Snyder led the Bats offensively, going 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double. Aaron Herr was 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI and Tyrell Godwin contributed two hits.
The Bats will travel to Bradenton on Monday to take on the Indianapolis Indians beginning at 1:00pm.
