Bauer, Harvey own All-Star vote leads

After two weeks of voting, fans are still showing the love for Matt LaPorta.

The Major League veteran and Columbus outfielder leads all vote-getters for the second straight week, earning about 4,000 more votes than the Pacific Coast League's most popular selection, Sacramento designated hitter Brandon Moss.

LaPorta appears a safe bet to win the fans' vote to start in the International League's outfield, and at this point, he would be joined by Syracuse's Corey Brown and Buffalo's Matt Tuiasosopo.

The IL's top infield vote-getters through two weeks include Pawtucket catcher Ryan Lavarnway and second baseman Pedro Ciriaco, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre first baseman Steve Pearce (recently traded to and playing for the Orioles) and DH Jack Cust, Buffalo shortstop Omar Quintanilla and Columbus third baseman Lonnie Chisenhall.

Buffalo's Matt Harvey and Lehigh Valley's Tyler Cloyd hold edges over Dave Bush (Lehigh Valley), Julio Teheran (Gwinnett) and Chris Archer (Durham) at starting pitcher. Toledo's Chris Bootcheck and the Yankees' Chase Whitley own the lead for relievers over Buffalo's Fernando Cabrera and a pair of Major League veterans with Red Sox and Yankees ties, Manny Delcarmen (Scranton/WB) and Mark Melancon (Pawtucket).

Lehigh Valley's B.J. Rosenberg has received the most votes among write-in candidates but does not rank among the top 10 relievers.

Reno's Adam Eaton ranks second in the PCL in votes and lines up to be joined in the outfield by Fresno's Roger Kieschnick and Justin Christian. In the infield, Reno third baseman Ryan Wheeler, shortstop Taylor Harbin and second baseman Jake Elmore join Iowa first baseman Anthony Rizzo and Las Vegas catcher Travis d'Arnaud.

Oddly enough, Elmore leads at second base but also ranks No. 6 among write-in candidates as the PCL's shortstop -- he has fairly evenly split time at the two positions this season.

Fresno's Eric Hacker and Reno's Trevor Bauer lead among starting pitchers.

Omaha's Max Ramirez remains in a tough spot as the No. 3 overall Triple-A vote-getter, but trails Moss as the PCL's DH. Albuquerque outfielder Scott Van Slyke, Toledo DH Brad Eldred and Buffalo third baseman Zach Lutz all rank among the top-25 vote receivers but do not currently lead their categories.

Reno's A.J. Pollock remains the top write-in candidate on the PCL ballot but was promoted to Arizona on Thursday.

Voting, which is being held exclusively on MiLB.com, ends at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Friday, June 22. The fan vote will count for one-third (33 percent) of a player's total and will be added to the votes of media (33 percent) and Triple-A Field/General Managers (33 percent) to select the starting players.
