Misiewicz tosses complete-game shutout for Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (August 27, 2017) - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, were kept off the board in a 1-0 loss to the Montgomery Biscuits Sunday night at Riverwalk Stadium.
The BayBears (62-69 overall, 32-30 second half) put runners in scoring position in each of the last two innings. However, Mobile went hitless in five chances with runners in scoring position and fell by just one run.
Anthony Misiewicz (3-1) pitched a complete-game shutout for the Biscuits (74-58, 37-25) in his fourth start as a member of the Rays organization. He allowed five hits, issued one walk, and struck out two batters.
Jesus Castillo (0-1) took the loss, despite only allowing one run on four hits. He struck out four batters in five innings pitched, making the start for Mobile on his 22nd birthday. Kevin Grendell and Tyler Warmoth combined for three scoreless innings of relief.
Grant Kay drove in Montgomery's only run with an RBI single in the bottom of the third inning.
The BayBears continue the five-game road series against Montgomery Monday at 7:05 p.m. CT. Right-handed pitcher Grayson Long (8-6, 2.62 ERA) is scheduled to make the start against righty Benton Moss (3-4, 3.94 ERA) for the Biscuits.
