MOBILE, Ala. (July 21, 2019) - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, had a pair of two-run leads but fell short 8-5 in 10 innings to the Biloxi Shuckers Sunday afternoon at Hank Aaron Stadium.
After squandering an early 2-0 advantage, Connor Justus put the BayBears (40-57 overall, 13-16 second half) back in front with a two-run homer in the fourth. It was his second home run of the season and first since April. Justus drove in another run with a sacrifice fly in the eighth to tie the game 5-5, and it was his first three-RBI game of the year.
However, the Shuckers (60-39, 19-10) plated three runs on two hits and three walks in the top of the 10th. Nate Griep (5-1) earned the win despite blowing just his second save, and Dario Beltre (1-3) took the loss for the BayBears.
Brandon Marsh extended his on-base streak with Mobile to 18 games with a single in the first inning.
