MONTGOMERY, Ala. (August 30, 2017) - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, grabbed an early lead but dropped the series finale 8-4 to the Montgomery Biscuits Wednesday night at Riverwalk Stadium.
After a one-hour, 42-minute rain delay, Josè Briceño gave the BayBears (63-71 overall, 33-32 second half) a 1-0 advantage in the second inning with a solo home run to left field. Briceno scored three of the four Mobile runs in the game, as Tim Arakawa drove him in three times to match his career-high in RBI.
However, the Biscuits (76-59, 39-26) hit four home runs in the game, accounting for seven of their eight runs. Justin Williams became the second Montgomery player to hit three homers in a game, with a trio of two-run shots in the second, fourth, and seventh innings. Andrew Velazquez also added a solo blast off Luis Pena (1-2) to cap the scoring in a three-run fourth.
José Mujica (13-8) earned his 13th win of the season. He gave up three runs on seven hits with four strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings pitched.
