Six runs in first three innings helps Mobile snap losing skid

MOBILE, Ala. (July 23, 2017) - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, scored six runs in the first three innings to earn a 6-4 victory over the Chattanooga Lookouts in the series finale Sunday evening at Hank Aaron Stadium.
The BayBears (43-65 overall, 13-16 second half) scored one run in the first inning, three in the second, and two in the third to grab a 6-0 lead. Taylor Ward , Forrestt Allday , and Alberto Triunfel all had RBI singles, Tim Arakawa scored on a wild pitch, and Sherman Johnson plated two runs with a double.
Alex Klonowski (5-5) earned his first win of the month, falling just one out shy of a quality start. He gave up one run on five hits with five strikeouts. The lone run came on an Andy Wilkins home run in the fourth inning.
The Lookouts (65-35, 23-7) scored three more runs in the eighth inning to cut the Mobile lead to 6-4. Max Murphy hit a two-run double and then scored on an Alex Perez RBI single. Chattanooga put two runners on base with two outs in the ninth inning, but Michael Dimock induced a fielder's choice to end the game and earn his fourth save.
The BayBears begin a five-game road series against the Jackson Generals Tuesday at 6:05 p.m. CT. Right-handed pitcher Jaime Barria (1-2, 2.79 ERA) is slated to make the start against righty Taylor Clarke (8-6, 2.71 ERA) for the Generals.
