MOBILE, Ala. (August 6, 2017) - The eight-game win streak for the Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, came to an end Sunday night with a 2-1 loss to the Montgomery Biscuits at Hank Aaron Stadium.
Jaime Barria (1-4) took the loss, despite allowing just one earned run. Two Mobile errors led to the first Montgomery run in the third inning, and it ultimately made the difference in a one-run loss. Barria gave up just four hits in five innings pitched.
Benton Moss (2-3) recorded a quality start for Montgomery (61-52 overall, 24-19 second half), giving up just one run in six innings with five strikeouts. Mike Franco tossed two scoreless, hitless innings of relief with a pair of strikeouts, and Ian Gibaut worked around a two-out single in the ninth for his seventh save.
Troy Montgomery drove in the only run of the game for the BayBears (53-59, 23-20). He hit a game-tying double in the bottom of the third. The Biscuits reclaimed the lead on Nick Ciuffo's RBI single in the fourth inning.
