Baysox announce front office moves

Six new faces come aboard amid other staff shuffles

BOWIE, Md. -- The Bowie Baysox are pleased to announce several additions to the team's front office. Sean Foy, Matt McCann, Danielle White and Jake Seils have been added to the Group Sales staff, Josh VerStandig has joined the Sponsorship Department, Andrew Jackson and Mike Soper have joined the Operations Office, and Ryan Barber has been promoted to Box Office Manager. Joe Miller and Branden Roth will also be joining the Baysox Marketing Department as full-season interns.

Foy joins the Baysox as a group events manager in charge of corporate sales after interning with the Baltimore Orioles Public Relations Department during the 2012 season. A Poolesville, Md., native, Foy graduated from West Virginia University where he was a team manager for the Men's Basketball team.

McCann returns to the Baysox as a group events manager after serving as a marketing intern with the Frederick Keys last season. He was a marketing intern with the Baysox in 2011 after graduating from Mount Saint Mary's University. The Newark, Del., native is in charge of school, scout and camp events.

White comes to the Baysox after spending the 2012 season as a ticket operations and group sales intern with the Reading Phillies. The Reading, Pa., native and Rider University graduate will be a group events manager in charge of corporate sales with the Baysox.

Seils joins the Baysox as a group events manager in charge of civic associations, churches and alumni groups. A Dayton, Md., native and Lynchburg College graduate, Seils was previously an intern with Vivid Marketing in Columbia, Md., and he is scheduled to begin working with the Baysox the final week of January.

VerStandig moves into his new role as corporate sponsorship manager after working in a variety of positions for the Sydney Blue Sox of the Australian Baseball League during the winter season. A Bethesda, Md., native and James Madison University graduate, VerStandig will sell advertising and promotions to local companies on behalf of the Baysox.

Jackson joins the Baysox as stadium operations manager in charge of overseeing the facility and maintaining clean, working order in the stadium. The Marietta, Ga., native and University of Georgia graduate was a member of the operations staff with the Gwinnett Braves and Myrtle Beach Pelicans before joining the Baysox.

Soper will serve at the Baysox's assistant groundskeeper this season after working with the Lake Elsinore Storm last season and previously as an intern with the Buffalo Bisons. A Peabody, Mass., native and University of Massachusetts graduate, Soper will work with the director of field and facility operations to help maintain the field at Prince George's Stadium.

After serving as the box office assistant in 2012, Barber has been promoted to box office manager, where he will sell and process ticket orders. The Arnold, Md., native and Salisbury University graduate worked in the Naval Academy Athletics Department ticket office during summer camps and gamedays before joining the Baysox.

Miller joins the Baysox as the mascot coordinator and marketing intern, where he will book appearances for the mascot Louie and assist the Marketing Department. An Owings, Md., native and University of Maryland graduate, Miller was previously enrolled in the Disney College Program in Orlando, where he worked in guest relations at DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park.

Roth assumes the newly created position of video production intern, where he will direct game video production and produce team-related videos and video board graphics. The Germantown, Md., native and University of Maryland graduate comes to the Baysox after previously working with Synthesis Multimedia Productions and Comcast SportsNet Washington.
