Bees Lose 6-1 in Tacoma

July 15, 2011

Tacoma parlayed three two run innings into a victory, as the Rainiers knocked off the Salt Lake Bees 6-1 on Thursday night. The Rainiers grabbed a 2-0 lead in the second inning on a two run double by Michael Saunders off of Salt Lake starter Tyler Chatwood. They would later get a pair of two run homer from Ryan Langerhans, one in the fourth and one in the sixth. The Bees' lone run came on a sacrifice fly by Paul McAnulty in the fifth inning.

Chatwood (0-1), who was making a spot start for Salt Lake before he returns to the Angels' rotation on July 19th against Texas, struggled with his control with five walks in just three innings. He allowed two runs on four hits with two strikeouts. Tyson Auer laid down a bunt single in the fifth inning to stretch his hitting streak to twelve game, while Reggie Willits had three hits to extend his hitting streak to ten games. The Bees have now dropped a season high six consecutive games and a season long five straight on the road.
