Blue Jays hosting Green Day

Outdoor activities, energy conservation to be presented at event
May 4, 2009
Dunedin, FL - When the Dunedin Blue Jays host the Tampa Yankees on Friday, May 8, Dunedin Stadium will present Green Day, an event for fans to explore the different things that can be done in the fields of energy conservation and outdoor activities.

With that day also being the first Happy Hour promotion of the season for the Blue Jays, it will be a busy night in the Dunedin Stadium concourse, as fans will be able to see the different exhibits that give fans information on all the great things that are being done locally to help out Mother Nature.

Both Wal-Mart and Publix will be on hand with give-away items, and on top of that, fans can check out the exhibits and get information on the great local outdoor activities in the Dunedin area, including places like Pinellas Trail, Honeymoon Island and many more places.

Also, the first 500 fans who purchase a beverage during the game will receive a complimentary green cup from Middleton Lawn & Pest Control that can be reused throughout the contest.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Friends of the Island Parks, a local volunteer organization that supports Honeymoon Island, Caladesi Island and the Gulf Islands GEOpark.
