BlueClaws Charities Gives 25 Grants in 2011

Benefiting Jersey Shore non-profit organizations

LAKEWOOD, NJ - BlueClaws Charities, the official non-profit foundation of the Lakewood BlueClaws, gave grants to 25 Jersey Shore organizations through their end-of-year grant program. Compared to 2010, an additional 14 organizations received grants in 2011.

BlueClaws Charities Community Partners, area 501c3 organizations that partner with the BlueClaws, are eligible to receive a grant. The money must go to a project or an event that benefits residents of Monmouth or Ocean Counties.

"Being able to help these tremendous organizations through the grant program is very rewarding," said BlueClaws Charities Executive Director Jim DeAngelis. "We thank all of the organizations for their support and for the BlueClaws fans that helped us raise money throughout the year."

BlueClaws Charities raises money through various events and programs such as the Celebrity Waiter Event, Nine and Dine Golf Outing, the Jersey Shore Kids Consignment Sale, Bowling With BlueClaws, BlueClaws Jersey Auctions, and Player Bachelor Auctions.

This year's grant recipients: The Lt. Dennis Zilinski Memorial Fund, Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore, Childhood Lukemia Foundation, American Cancer Society, NJ Tears, Preferred Behavioral Healthcare, Interfaith Hospitality Network of Ocean County, Family Promise of Monmouth County, Mental Health Association of Monmouth County, LADACIN Network, Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network, Catholic Charities, Ashley Lauren Foundation, Monmouth County Arts Council, Little Silver Foundation for Animals, Ocean County Shriners Club, United Way of Monmouth County, Dream Factory of the Jersey Shore, Tom Giannattasio Jr. Memorial Fund, Garden State COPS, Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ocean County, Mental Health Association of Monmouth County, ALS Association, Jersey Shore Council of Boy Scouts, and Central Jersey Blood Center.
