Bulls Fall To Iron Pigs In 11, 2-1

Allentown, PA --- Former Bull Jason Pridie delivered the game-winning single in the last of the 11th as Lehigh Valley defeated the Durham Bulls 2-1 on Sunday afternoon at Coca Cola Park.

The Iron Pigs (39-29) had been held hitless for 7 1/3 innings until Kevin Fransden blooped a single to start the 11th. After a balk was charged against Josh Lueke (L, 0-3). Then on a 3-2 pitch, Pridie drilled a single to right to score Fransden with the winning run.

The Bulls (30-41) tied the game 1-1 in the fourth after a two-out walk to Chris Gimenez was followed by an RBI-double by Allen off of the right-centerfield wall.

Lehigh Valley took a 1-0 lead against starter Lance Pendleton in the third on a two-out single by Tug Hulett.

The Bulls managed just five hits in the game, with the Iron Pigs mustering only four.

Pendleton worked five innings, permitting two hits and a run, walking five and fanning one. Romulo Sanchez threw three hitless innings, his longest outing of the season.

The Bulls continue their road trip on Monday night at 7:05 PM ET against the Rochester Red Wings. Jim Paduch (2-5, 5.23) will get the start in the opener.
