Top Tigers prospect Nick Castellanos hit a two-run shot to right-center field off Phillies closer Jonathan Papelbon in a six-run fifth inning as Detroit cruised. No. 5 prospect Casey Crosby got the win after allowing one run on one hit over two frames. Phillies left fielder Darin Ruf, who led the Minors in home runs last season, went 0-for-2 with a strikeout. No. 7 Washington prospect Eury Perez was a perfect 3-for-3 at the dish -- all singles -- with a stolen base and two runs scored in the victory. No. 11 Matt Skole finished 1-for-4 with a double in his first start of Spring Training. Nathan Karns (No. 6) tossed two one-hit innings, striking out three. Gameday box score

Indians 14, Athletics 10
His team may have taken the loss in the offensive showdown, but A's No. 3 prospect Michael Choice continued his hot start to the spring. The center fielder went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored, making him 5-for-7 with four RBIs in the first three Cactus League games. Shane Peterson, an outfielder who has split time between Triple-A Sacramento and Double-A Midland the past two seasons, went 3-for-3 with a homer and two RBIs. Yan Gomes -- the utilityman who came to Cleveland in the trade that sent reliever Esmil Rogers to Toronto -- powered the Tribe's offense, going 2-for-2 with a homer and a game-high five RBIs. Mariners 9, Angels 8
After his team rallied from a five-run deficit, Julio Morban -- Seattle's No. 14 prospect -- brought home Francisco Martinez, who stroked a one-out triple the pitch before, with a walk-off single in the ninth. The left fielder finished 2-for-2 with the RBI and a run scored. Brandon Maurer struck out one and allowed one hit in one inning. For the Angels, No. 5 prospect Kole Calhoun went 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Hank Conger, who spent most of his time with Triple-A Salt Lake in 2012, led all hitters, going 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs. Top San Diego prospect Jedd Gyorko continued to rack up RBIs, driving home two with his second home run of the spring in the third inning. The infielder has multiple RBIs in each of his first three Cactus League games, and six in total. No. 9 prospect Robbie Erlin allowed just one hit and one walk in two scoreless relief innings, and Johnny Barbato (No. 17) was perfect in the eighth, striking out one. Brewers' No. 13 prospect Hiram Burgos took the loss after giving up two runs on three hits over 2 2/3 frames. Jed Bradley (No. 6) didn't fare any better, giving up three runs (two earned) on two hits in 1 2/3 innings, while Johnny Hellweg (No. 4) struck out two and issued one hit and two walks over two innings. White Sox 9, Giants 9
Jared Mitchell -- the No. 5 White Sox prospect -- tripled and collected his first two Grapefruit League RBIs in a game that featured a six-run third for San Francisco and a seven-run eighth for Chicago. The organization's No. 9 prospect, Andre Rienzo, took the brunt of the former, giving up five earned runs on three hits and two walks without retiring a batter in the third. No. 13 Dodgers prospect Paco Rodriguez took the win, giving up two hits and striking out one in a scoreless eighth. Barret Loux, who came to the Cubs from the Rangers for pitcher Jacob Brigham, impressed in his Grapefruit League debut for his new team. He scattered two hits and a walk in two shutout innings. Making a case to claim St. Louis' second-base job, the team's No. 5 prospect, Kolten Wong, went 2-for-4 with a double, stolen base and two runs scored as the Cardinals ripped the Astros. Red Sox 4, Blue Jays 2
Jackie Bradley, the Red Sox's No. 2 prospect, went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a walk as Boston edged Toronto. Recent acquisitions Brock Holt (2-for-3) and Allen Webster (four strikeouts over two innings while hitting 99 on the radar gun) also contributed, and starter Steven Wright earned the win with two scoreless innings in a knuckleball showdown against Toronto's R.A. Miami's second- and third-ranked prospects, Christian Yelich and Jake Marisnick, contributed a hit and an RBI apiece in the Marlins' five-run eighth inning, but the Braves ultimately prevailed for their first victory in four Grapefruit League contests. Gameday box score

Vidal Nuno, who went 10-6 with a 2.54 ERA at Class A Advanced Tampa and Double-A Trenton last season, fanned five Orioles over two innings but suffered the loss after allowing a run on two hits.
