Castillo Heads to Reno, Montilla Joins Hawks
Castillo will go up in a fill-in role for the AAA team. In 35 games with South Bend, Castillo is hitting .198 with four homers and 18 RBIs. Twelve of his 22 hits this season are extra base hits.
Montilla comes to South Bend for the first time in his career. The Venezuela native is in his fourth professional season, with a career .233 average, six homers, and 63 RBIs. He has played with the DSL Diamondbacks, Yakima, Mobile, and Visalia in the past three seasons.
The South Bend roster currently stands at 25 active players plus one on the disabled list.
The Silver Hawks are enjoying an off day on Monday before continuing the road trip with the first of three in Lansing, Michigan against the Lugnuts on Tuesday night.
