After he was cut by the Orioles in February, Christian Walker was claimed off waivers twice before finally latching on with Arizona.
The D-backs optioned him to the Triple-A Aces on March 30, and he's been manhandling Pacific Coast League pitching ever since.
Walker blasted two home runs to move into a tie for the most in the Minor Leagues this season with 12 as Reno beat Round Rock, 14-4, on Thursday at Greater Nevada Field. The multi-homer game marked his first since April 12 against Albuquerque and the sixth of his professional career.

Gameday box score
After lining out to left field in the first inning against right-hander Tyler Wagner, the No. 30 D-backs prospect homered on the first pitch he saw in the second, a three-run shot to left that punctuated a seven-run frame.
Walker flew out to center in the fourth before tagging Wagner with a solo shot to left with two outs in the sixth. He stands in a five-way tie for the Minor League lead while also topping the PCL with 46 RBIs.

The 2012 fourth-round pick hit for the cycle on May 14 and sports a six-game hitting streak, during which he's hit 12-for-29 with three homers, 11 runs scored and 10 RBIs. Walker has amassed a .306/.381/.631 slash line, a marked improvement over last season's .264/.321/.437 mark with Triple-A Norfolk. He needs six homers and 18 RBIs to match his 2016 numbers.

D-backs No. 18 prospect Jack Reinheimer went 2-for-4 with a home run, three runs and two RBIs, while No. 28 Ildemaro Vargas added two hits and three RBIs from the leadoff spot.
Eric Jokisch (3-0) allowed three runs on six hits and two walks with five strikeouts over 6 2/3 innings.
