Cinco de Mayo 2012: LLB at Whataburger Field

State Farm Brings Band Back after Hooks-Missions
February 1, 2012

CORPUS CHRISTI - Cap your 2012 Cinco de Mayo celebration at Whataburger Field with a postgame concert by Los Lonely Boys, presented by State Farm.

That's after you enjoy a Saturday evening of Hooks Baseball as the hometown nine tangles with Texas League rival San Antonio at 6:05 p.m. on May 5.

And, you can do both at an incredible value: $15 reserved-seat tickets and $9 general admission. Ticket sales begin on March 2 and are subject to availability. Visit the Whataburger Field Box Office, go to cchooks.com or call 361-561-HOOKS (4665).

Hooks season-ticket and suite holders enjoy the show at no additional charge.

Media partner is the Corpus Christi Caller-Times.

"Los Lonely Boys put on an incredible show at Whataburger Field in July of 2010," Hooks president Ken Schrom recalled. "They bill themselves as the Texican rock-n-roll trio, and anyone who's enjoyed their music will agree.

"I can't think of a better way to spend Cinco de Mayo and we look forward to sharing this great value with our fans. Our goal is affordable family entertainment and that applies to our special events as well as Hooks Baseball."

Los Lonely Boys is comprised of brothers Henry (vocals/guitar), JoJo (bass/vocals) and Ringo (percussion/vocals) Garza. Last March, LLB released studio album No. 4, Rockpango, their first self-produced LP on their own LonelyTone/Playing In Traffic Records.

The group's first single, "Heaven" (2003), reached No. 1 on the Adult Contemporary chart and 16th on the Billboard Hot 100. It also crossed over to the Hot Country Songs chart, peaking at 46. The song won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance.

It's been quite a ride. They've opened for the Rolling Stones and played and recorded with artists like Willie Nelson and Carlos Santana. They performed behind their dad as kids in cantinas and honky-tonks. They moved to Nashville as teens to try to win a record deal. They returned to Texas, building their reputation and catalog on the club scene as a live act. Their self-titled debut went double platinum.

And that just scratches the surface for the boys from San Angelo. To read more about the band, go to loslonelyboys.com

"We are excited to partner with the Corpus Christi Hooks for another successful event," State Farm agency field executive Michael Cicherski said. "Cinco de Mayo 2012 is in full swing with a night of baseball and a post-game concert led by Los Lonely Boys. The Corpus Christi State Farm agents welcome the opportunity to celebrate Cinco de Mayo 2012 with you!"
