Cota gets Bees back into Finals

Right-hander, Sisk don't give Kernels much offensive opportunity

Luis Cota allowed just one run over seven strong innings as the Burlington Bees swept the Western Division Finals with a 2-1 win over the Cedar Rapids Kernels and advanced to their first Midwest League Finals since 1999.

Cota (1-0) allowed just three hits and one walk while striking out seven. Brandon Sisk threw two perfect frames for his third save of the playoffs, striking out four of the six batters he faced.

Jamar Walton snapped a 1-1 tie with an RBI double in the fourth and Jason Taylor went 2-for-3 with a run scored for the Bees.

Kernels' starter Michael Davitt (0-1) took the complete-game loss, allowing two runs on seven hits while striking out three and walking one over eight innings.

Gabriel Jacobo hit an RBI single in the fourth for Cedar Rapids.
