Two-run blast in ninth gives shortstop prospect two on day

Javier Baez (CHC No. 1): It may not have been on the big international stage, but the Puerto Rico native definitely put on a show in an exhibition against game Japan on Friday. His solo homer in the seventh inning pulled a split squad of Cubs within a run and his two-run blast in the ninth gave it a walk-off win. The shortstop finished 2-for-4 with a walk, three runs scored and a strikeout. In 13 Cactus League games before Friday, Baez was batting .290 with two homers and six RBIs.
